What Is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is an injectable treatment made with calcium hydroxylapatite, commonly known as CaHA. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse® may provide immediate support and contour while also encouraging the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin over time.
This dual benefit makes Radiesse® a versatile option for patients who want to address visible signs of aging, improve definition, or support healthier looking skin quality.
At OpalGlow Medspa, Radiesse® may be incorporated into a personalized treatment plan as either:
Radiesse® as a Filler: Used to restore support, improve contour, and enhance structure in appropriately selected areas.
Radiesse® as a Biostimulator: Used in a diluted or hyperdiluted technique to support skin firmness, texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality.
One Product. Two Approaches.
Radiesse® for Contour and Volume
As a structural injectable, Radiesse® may provide visible improvement immediately after treatment by restoring support and enhancing definition. It is especially valuable for patients who want a more refined, balanced appearance without looking overfilled.
Radiesse® treatment may be considered for concerns such as:
Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds
Loss of jawline definition
Lower face structural support
Volume loss in the backs of the hands
Age related changes affecting facial contour
Radiesse® (+) is FDA-approved for improving moderate to severe loss of jawline contour in adults over age 21. Radiesse® is also FDA-approved for correcting volume loss in the back of the hands.
Radiesse® for Biostimulation
When used in a diluted or hyperdiluted treatment approach, Radiesse® focuses less on adding visible volume and more on improving the appearance of skin quality over time.
This treatment approach is ideal for patients who notice crepey texture, laxity, thinning skin, or a loss of firmness and want a regenerative strategy that works with their own collagen response.
Biostimulatory Radiesse® may help improve the appearance of:
Skin firmness
Crepey texture
Fine lines and wrinkling
Loss of elasticity
Skin laxity
Overall skin quality and smoothness
Radiesse® diluted with saline is FDA-approved for correction of décolleté wrinkles in patients age 22 and older. Treatment in additional areas is determined individually during consultation based on anatomy, skin quality, and treatment goals.
Areas That May Benefit From Radiesse®
Face and Jawline
Radiesse® can be used to support facial structure and improve the appearance of contour loss. For patients experiencing reduced jawline definition or age related changes in the lower face, treatment may provide a more refined and balanced profile.
Common goals:
Improve jawline definition
Restore lower face support
Soften the appearance of moderate to severe facial folds
Create a more structured, refreshed appearance
Neck
The neck is one of the first areas where skin laxity and crepey texture become visible. A biostimulatory treatment plan may help support smoother, firmer looking skin over time without creating unnatural fullness.
Common goals:
Improve the appearance of crepey skin
Support firmer looking skin
Improve overall skin texture and quality
Décolletage
The chest is frequently exposed to sun damage and often develops fine wrinkling, thinning skin, and a crepey appearance over time. Diluted Radiesse® is FDA approved for the correction of décolleté wrinkles in patients age 22 and older.
Common goals:
Smooth the appearance of chest wrinkles
Improve skin quality
Support firmer, more youthful looking skin
Hands
Volume loss in the backs of the hands can make tendons and veins appear more prominent over time. Radiesse® is FDA approved for hand augmentation to correct volume loss in the dorsum of the hands.
Common goals:
Restore lost volume
Reduce the visible appearance of tendons and veins
Create smoother, more youthful looking hands
Abdomen, Arms, Thighs and Above the Knees
As collagen decreases, body skin may develop laxity, crepiness, and textural changes, particularly in areas such as the upper arms, abdomen, inner thighs, and above the knees.
During your consultation, we can evaluate areas of concern and determine whether a personalized skin quality treatment plan is appropriate for your goals.
Common goals:
Improve the appearance of crepey skin
Support firmer looking body skin
Improve texture and overall skin quality
Address mild laxity in targeted areas
What Results Can I Expect?
Radiesse® results depend on the treatment approach selected.
With Structural Radiesse® Treatment
Patients may notice an immediate improvement in contour or support after treatment. Mild swelling may temporarily affect the initial appearance, with results becoming more refined as the area settles.
With Biostimulatory Radiesse® Treatment
Biostimulatory results develop gradually as the skin responds over time. Rather than creating dramatic or immediate volume, this approach is intended to support progressive improvement in firmness, texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality.
Radiesse® results have been shown to last up to two years in certain treatment settings, although individual results vary based on treatment area, product amount, anatomy, metabolism, and treatment plan.
Is Radiesse® Right for Me?
Radiesse® may be appropriate for patients who want to:
Restore facial contour or jawline definition
Improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds
Address hand volume loss
Improve décolleté wrinkles
Support firmer, smoother looking skin
Address crepey texture or mild skin laxity
Pursue gradual, natural looking rejuvenation
During your consultation, your medical history, treatment goals, anatomy, skin quality, and previous aesthetic treatments will be reviewed to determine whether Radiesse® is appropriate for you.

A Plan Designed Around You
Radiesse® is not a one size fits all treatment. Your plan is based on your anatomy, areas of concern, desired outcome, and whether your priority is contour, skin quality, or a combination of both.
Natural Results Are the Goal
Our philosophy is enhancement, not transformation. Treatment is designed to refresh, refine, and support your natural features while maintaining balance and authenticity.
Safety Comes First
All treatments are performed in a clinical setting using careful assessment, sterile technique, patient education, and detailed post-treatment guidance.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your Radiesse® appointment begins with a personalized consultation and assessment of the areas you would like to treat. Your provider will discuss whether a contour focused or biostimulatory approach is most appropriate for your goals.
Treatment areas are carefully prepared, and the product is administered using an individualized injection technique. The amount of product used and the treatment method will depend on the selected area, degree of correction desired, and your personalized plan.
Appointments are typically completed in the office, and most patients are able to return to normal daily activities with temporary precautions.
Preparing for Your Radiesse® Treatment
Before your appointment:
Inform your provider of all medical conditions, allergies, medications, supplements, and previous injectable treatments.
Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours before treatment when possible.

After treatment, patients are generally advised to:
Avoid strenuous activity for approximately 24 hours.
Avoid extensive sun or heat exposure until swelling and redness have resolved.
Avoid pressure or manipulation of the treated area unless specifically instructed otherwise.
Follow any provider directed massage instructions if applicable to your individualized treatment plan.
Contact the office immediately for worsening pain, skin discoloration, blanching, unusual symptoms, or any changes in vision.
Your specific post care instructions will depend on the area treated and the technique used.
